Just a random photo
I had the pleasure of photographing Peter and Julia's wedding on Saturday in Woodinville. More photos to come but I thought I'd share this one, taken seconds before guests were to be seated in the church. I've been photographing Julia and her family since she was about 9 years old so her wedding day was very special for me. Watching people grow up, and capturing great moments along the way, is such a great joy. I can't imagine not knowing how to work a camera! Life zooms by and trying to chase down a moment at times can seem like one of those sad/hilarious cat videos where the little kitty is trying to step on the light beam from a flashlight! But during this wild ride, photography is my way of catching that light and then sharing that moment with others.
A camera is a much better tool for doing that than a paw! (poor kitties)

A few classic portraits of Rachel
Oh, these are cute too!
Claire and her bridesmaids got ready in a beautiful little cottage straight out of Coastal Living magazine. The light was streaming through the skylights and created such a great opportunity to capture some quick portraits. I love the profile shot. It was only 1/250 of a second of the day but in that instant I think it captures so much.
Claire & Fowler
A quaint garden setting on Bainbridge Island was the perfect backdrop for Claire and Fowler's wedding in mid-September. There was an eclectic mix of people from all over the country. The ceremony took place in Claire's parents back yard. The toasts were hilarious, the music was loud and even the family dog was overwhelmed by the awesomeness of it all. He looked completely drunk with glee after having been petted by 100 people, chasing frisbees all day, snacking on leftover gourmet wedding food AND dancing with Claire's parents. I wanted to protect the dog's privacy (he is very high profile in the canine community on Bainbridge) so I won't post any pictures of him here (yet), but here are some photos of two of his favorite people!
Ellie's senior portraits
I've known Ellie since the day she was born. Photographing her the other day was emotional and classic at the same time. I'll post a larger series of those photographs soon but here are a couple of my more unusual favorites.

Puget Sound's only 45 degrees...why not hop in for some photos?

Jenn & Laurie's wedding
Just a few weeks ago I had the pleasure of photographing Jenn & Laurie's wedding at Kiana Lodge. It was a wonderful day, and together with their dog Boo, they made a very happy family. The day was filled with love, laughter, good food and drink, great music and awesome people. It can't get much better than that!
OK, now it's been waaayyy too long!
A month and a half since last posting something? What an awesome blog huh? I've been shooting all kinds of things lately from weddings, to family portraits, to high school seniors, to events. So many great moments. All of that added together with a wonderful late summer and early fall with friends and family has equaled absolutely no complaints (other than how do we keep the sun from setting any earlier than 8pm?...that should be illegal).
Hmmm...what to post first...hey, isn't this a cute shot of my sister-in-law Holly with her little man (my adorable nephew) Arlo?
